Sophia still wasn't feeling well today so she stayed home from school and I just let her vegg. I had a play date set up for after Noah got out of school but we had to cancel but another mom offered to pick up Noah and drop him off so I agreed and he had a great time. After feeding them dinner we set out for trick or treating. Sophia was so miserable she only made it to about 3 or 4 houses and she jumped in the stroller. Noah made it down a full block and a half and filled his bucket half way. Not too bad! He was content with that. We came home made popcorn and watched Charlie Brown Halloween. My only regret for today, besides Sophia feeling better, was that Peter wasn't there to hear all the compliments on Noah's costume. Several people even stopped and took pictures of him. You did good baby!

So the costume is done and Peter did an awesome job! Noah wanted to keep the costume on all night but we distracted him by finally carving our pumpkins. It's funny, they really didn't want to get their hands dirty at first but then they had lots of fun making a mess! Peter cleaned all the seeds and roasted them so the house smells amazing right now.

Sophia is a little under the weather. She must have caught something yesterday at school and she had a really rough night. Peter and I were like zombies this morning. It took me forever to wake up and get ready for work. Luckily the weather is nice and cool (well for FL anyway) so that helped wake me up some. I'm praying she sleeps better tonight. She got a warm bath and I rubbed Vicks on her chest and back and a little Motrin for the fever. I hope it helps! Noah is really looking forward to trick-or-treating tomorrow I hope we can still swing it.

Getting Creative

Noah decided to be a robot this year for Halloween which meant that we had to get creative. We found some great ideas on-line and Peter added a few of his own. This is where it's at so far.

Sunday

On Sunday we took the kids to Sea World for some early trick or treating. We meet the Lowes and had a nice evening together. It was crazy crowded but even with that the kids enjoyed it. The boys waited for about 45 min with the kids for the Sesame Street show while Jen and I took a hike to the Anheuser Bush pavilion for a complimentary pumpkin beer and got back just in time to see the show.

Crazy Hula Boy

Noah asked for a hula hoop for his birthday which he got but I had no idea he was so good! Check him out! (Sorry the video is so dark)

Friday evening we went pumpkin picking. Noah, of course, wanted to buy the $50.00 pumpkin but we settled for a $10.00 one instead. Of all the pumpkins we saw I still think my pumpkins were the cutest!

There here!

What do ya think? We finally had our plantation shutters installed today! They look nice but I'm sure they will look better when the rooms are done.

So on Wednesdays I help out in Noah's class usually around center time. Today I was a little early so I was doing some filling while she was reading to the class about their community and ways they can help out in it. The topic of litter bugs came up and Mrs. Anderson says to the class that if someone throws something out the window and the police sees them they can get a ticket. Noah raised his hand and said, "My Mom and Dad do that. They spit their gum out the window." Mrs. Anderson just laughed and looked at me and I of course didn't know where to put my face! In my defense it only happened once or twice and I can't even chew gum anymore with these braces. Oh well no breaks for me! ;)

Today was Noah's very first field trip. His class went to Outback steakhouse (what a sorry excuse for a field trip) where they learned all about Australia and even got to check out the kitchen. I had a group of all boys who were all good but a little on the wild side. Noah loved riding on the bus which is something he always asks me to do. I think we all made the best of it and I'm looking forward to their next field trip to Blue Springs park to see manatees.

Cool Tease....

This morning we had of first "tease" of fall weather. Of course it'll be gone tomorrow, but it was still really nice. It made me forget that the kids woke up at 6am on a Sunday and that I was all out of coffee. I opened up all the windows and the kids got their robes on and enjoyed hot chocolate while watching a little PBS.

The kids have been so patient while we've been playing "house". Sophia was inspired by her daddy and wanted to paint as well. After 3 minutes of painting with his father, Noah decided he much rather watch his airplane video from the library. Oh well, tomorrow they'll have a break from house stuff.

Prime coats

The first coat of primer is going up as I'm typing and I'm already in love with it! Gotta love having your very own "handy man"! I'll keep posting as things progress.

After painting is done our plantation shutters will be installed on Thursday (super excited about that!) and then we're off to Ikea for a cute but very simple china cabinet and chandelier. We already have a buffet piece and mirror waiting for their new home. I need ideas for the bare walls...... Any ideas would be very much appreciated.
I'm looking for some funky plates to maybe put up on the wall or in the cabinet. I'm thinking yellows and oranges not 100% yet.
Next project, the kitchen......Posted by Picasa

Our Dining room

Here are a few pics of our dining room make-over. Peter has been working hard on trying to finish this project and it's all slowly coming together. These were from the morning........

I've decided to cancel my Myspace account and Facebook and just have a simple blog. Too many people were finding me on there that I really didn't want to have access to my personal life. Anyway, my close friends and family can check out the latest on us here.
