Self Advocacy

A brave, and beautiful, young queen, along with her young prince and princess entered the Tire Kingdom in Orange City, Fl. to drop off her loyal grocery go-getter for routine maintenance. For years she'd known the Tire Kingdom, and it's people, to provide the best service in the land for her royal coach.
"How may we be of assistance to you today, Your Highness?", asked the lord at the front chamber.
"Good morning my good man. I'll need my regularly scheduled services performed, and add a transmission flush, if you would be so kind", she said, with the grace, and self confidence of someone respected and loved by her countrymen. " Oh, His Majesty is out of town today, and has our other vehicle. Will the job be completed this afternoon? If not, it is no problem, I shall return tomorrow."
" Why, of course Ma'am. I will immediately put my best man on the job. It will take no more than two hours," said the lord.
The Queen left her keys, and waltzed with her two children to the local Tarzhey market.
After a time of snacking and shopping with her little ones she made her way back to the Tire Kingdom. Dark clouds were rolling in, and the air had an electricity about it. The queen rushed her tots, as to get them home to the safety of their castle.
Upon her arrival she could hear the lord immediately start barking muffled orders behind the wall of the chambers. He appeared from the back with a forced calmness about him. Obviously nervous, he explained that due to problems beyond his control he had the unfortunate task of telling the Queen her coach was not ready.
She asked how much longer would the wait be, and could tell by the frightened eyes of the lord her vehicle had not moved from the spot she left it.
"Give me my keys, Sir," she demanded.
" Ma'am how can I make this right?," he pleaded.
"My keys."
The Queen drove home and called the High Court of the Tire Kingdom to bring to light her recent disappointment with their services. They advised her she would be contacted shortly after passing down their decision to the lord.
The following day Lord Tim, from the Tire Kingdom invited The beautiful Queen to return, at her convenience, where he would personally supervise the maintenance of her trusted coach. Understanding that things sometimes go wrong, she made the journey again. The lord explained she would be receiving 50% off plus additional advertised reductions for the services rendered. The Queen, as graceful as ever, Thanked the man for his correction, and assured him she would seek no vengeance for her lost time. He thanked the Queen and proudly exclaimed his loyal service until the day he died.
The End

Thank God for Queens who stand up for themselves : )

Fruits (or should I say Foliage?) of Our Labor

So I guess you have to upload pictures to blogger in the opposite order you want them to appear. Anyway, this is our front garden from blank slate, to brown grass with baby lantana and coleus, to green grass with mounds of lantana and coleus, to green grass, mounds of lantana and coleus, and a mini date palm. Two Gardenia trees flank the front right window, and smell great, and two Hibiscus guard the garage.
Shoveling all that chicken shit has finally been justified!!

Schools out!!!!

My little man finished Kindergarten and I just can't believe it. He had a wonderful year academically and made lots of new friends. His teacher Mrs. Anderson was amazing. She's younger than me but she's so passionate about what she does and it was so refreshing to see. I had the pleasure of helping out once a week in the class and I got to know some of the kids, who are all adorable. Noah was really sad for the year to end and I have to say that I was right there with him.

These pics were from his class party a few days before school was out. Sophia tagged along and she was Miss popular. All the kids wanted to hold her hand and hug her and give her five. Poor thing was a little suffocated a couple of times but she loved it!

PTA

I'm officially PTA Treasure for Noah's school. It's funny that in talking to everyone about PTA most people didn't have many good things to say about it. I think that's really sad. I've totally jumped into this position and I will figure it out as I go. Were any of you involved in PTA? Any advise?
